Snowy Hydro owns, operates and maintains the famous Snowy Mountains Scheme. The scheme consists of 16 major dams, 7 power stations and 145kms of trans-mountain tunnels. Snowy Hydro provides over 70% of all renewable energy on the Eastern mainland grid of Australia, as well as providing peak load energy to light up the morning and evening rush hours in our major cities. Established 50 years in the hydro electricity industry, Snowy Hydro employs 400 people in the region.
