Experience the Magic

Well worth exploring...

Nestled in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains beyond, Tumbarumba has long been popular for winter getaways, however, the summer offerings of the Shire are equally exciting. This charming Shire is surrounded by an idyllic natural landscape of forests and mountains that make it seem a world away.

This region has some of the best scenic drives in the country. Here are some of our roads that are well worth traveling:

  • The Snowy Valleys Way (www.snowyvalleysway.com.au)
  • The Elliott Way
  • KNPS - the Khancoban - Cabramurra Road
  • The Kosciusko Alpine Way (www.alpineway.com.au)

The Snowy Valleys Way...

Tumbarumba is also situated in the centre of the new touring route – The Snowy Valleys Way. The Snowy Valleys Way invites travellers to escape the grind and boredom of the Hume Highway by exploring its picturesque route. The route officially starts (or ends) in the historic township of Beechworth, and leisurely wends its way north through Tallangatta and Corryong to Tumbarumba – home of Tumbafest. The route then encourages visitors to explore its northern-most offerings of Batlow and Tumut before finishing (or starting) at the Hume Highway at Gundagai.
